In November 2015 I conceived and organised a day series of lectures for the students of the Sir John CASS London metropolitan University. In this series I invited four of my colleges and ex-colleges to deliver an hour long lecture on a subject of my choices, focusing on an aspect of their personal practice that I felt was particularly relevant and interesting to the students. Simon Hamnell from Millennium Models LTD. lectured on “Turning 2D plans in to 3D buildings”, Mark Lim of Chalk Studios discussed “3D printing now and in the future”, Owen Rutter of the University of Greenwich lecture was on “Making for the Architectural industry” and Mehran Gharleghi of Studio Integrate discussed “Designing for a 3D World”.
The lecture was very well received and attended, inspiring the students and informing them of what to expect in the industry. A question and answer session was schedule at the end of the day and many students stay to talk to the lecture panel after the Q&A session.
